Pirjo uses multiple thingamabobs

Pirjo rolls a 6, meaning that she must use the hose. She is upset at this tool (or “thingamabob”, as she calls it), and re-reads the task, wondering if there is a loophole in it that she can exploit. She soon realises that the task does not forbid rerolling the die, so she does so, eventually getting a 3, which means that she can use the panpipes.

After complaining that the panpipes aren’t making any noise – and subsequently realising that she doesn’t actually have to make music while creating her artwork – Pirjo quickly realises that the panpipes are not working for her either, and so she rolls the die again, hoping for either a 1 (the bellows) or 5 (the foot pump). She eventually rolls a 5 and grabs the foot pump, which she almost immediately starts using incorrectly (putting the tube in her mouth) before catching herself.

Pirjo completes her drawing by pumping air from the foot pump. During her attempt, she also rests the actual pump on the sand, technically breaking the rules of the task. Although this is never brought up in the studio, the camera does pan in on the offending imprint in the sand at the end of her attempt.

As she draws, she tells Pilvi that she is aware that Jaakko often gets caught up in the in-studio “quibbling”, so wants to make sure her drawing is incredibly clear – by adding another face to it.

In the studio, Jaakko comments on the presence of writing in Pirjo’s drawing (which just says ‘Hi’), as well as the extra face she had added (which Pirjo claims is meant to represent ‘joy’, before apologising for speaking while Jaakko is still guessing). Jaakko correctly guesses that the “happy, round face” that Pirjo has drawn belongs to season 1 contestant Janne Kataja.

Jaakko ultimately awards everyone 5 points, as he believes the task was particularly difficult. However, he awards Pirjo a bonus point for “creatively stretching the rules” and figuring out that the die could be re-rolled.
