Pirjo makes duck tea
Pirjo re-reads the task brief, wondering if she is forbidden from crossing the rope herself. When she realises that she does not have to remain behind the line, she quickly runs to the shed, having formulated a plan involving rope.
As she runs a thick, long cord from the launch point to the pool, she muses (in English) that this task is her “cup of tea, as you say”. Realising that the cord is too thick to secure the small duck, Pirjo then runs back to the shed for “any old thing” to hold it, initially grabbing a fishing net, but quickly abandoning it in favour of a skipping rope.
After tying one end of the skipping rope around the duck’s neck, and the other end around the cord, Pirjo kneels down next to the pool and starts pulling the duck towards her.
The trajectory of the cord remains true, and Pirjo pulls the duck directly into the pool without needing to change its course.
In the studio, Jaakko attempts to question Pirjo’s technique, but Pirjo claims that it was “perfection”, forcing him to move on.
Pirjo’s completion time is not revealed, but she earns fourth place.
