Eero’s textbook performance

After a brief hiccup in the start of his tower construction, Eero soon figures out a building system that works for him: alternating large plates and large mugs to gain tower height that is relatively stable.

He continues with this method until he runs out of large plates and mugs, then starts to carefully stack all of the small plates on top of one other, on top of his final mug, until he has just three small plates left.

Despite looking visibly nervous, Pilvi asks Eero if his tower is the best he can do. Eero takes the bait, and carefully adds one more small plate to his tower. Encouraged that this had worked, Eero then adds the remaining plates to the top of his tower, carefully backing away and then throwing his sock to the ground before spreading his arms in victory. He then carefully leaves the lab, whispering to Pilvi that he hopes she enjoys her upcoming coffee break.

In the studio, Jaakko calls Eero’s attempt a “textbook performance”. It also transpires that Eero was the only contestant who hadn’t managed to touch any of his dishes with something other than his socked hand.

Eero builds a 70.6cm tall tower, and wins the task.
