The task brief is laid on the table in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:
Use the dishes on the table to make the highest tower possible.
You may only touch the dishes with your weaker hand, while wearing a woollen sock on your hand.
You have eight minutes.
The highest tower wins.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- Also on the table, there are an assortment of ceramic plates, saucers and cups, a single oversized woollen sock, and a pair of safety goggles.
- While no-one takes advantage of this, and it is not mentioned in the studio, there is nothing in the task brief forbidding the contestants from wearing the woollen sock on their stronger hand instead of their weaker one, which would definitely make the task easier.

Notes on task scores
- Given that the task is scored based on tower height, Pirjo and Pamela’s scores should have been switched, as Pirjo built the taller tower of the two. It is not known why this did not occur.
