Jack uses a grappling hook

As Jack arrives at the scene of the task, Alex asks him if he’s been on any of the rides in the theme park, and Jack responds that he hasn’t, since the park is closed.

Jack begins his attempt by trying to estimate how many cans there are on the barrier, but soon gets frustrated and decides that he “can’t be bothered”. However, he apparently finds his motivation again, as he correctly identifies that there are 160 cans present.

He first throws the exercise ball at the right-most stack, knocking off most of the top two rows. He then lobs the basketball at the same stack, knocking off a few more cans from the second and third rows.

Jack then flings the rugby ball hard at the central-right stack, hitting it just to the right of centre, and taking out quite a few of the cans, before the ball rebounds and hits a nearby floor-mounted camera.

He then throws the cricket ball at the central-left stack, taking out a few more cans, before the ball rolls back towards him. This provides him with another opportunity to throw the ball, which he uses to fell a couple more cans from the central-right stack.

Announcing that it’ll be pointless, Jack then throws the golf ball, which hits the barrier itself and rebound directly towards his face. Fortunately, he is able to block the projectile with his hands.

Having run out of things to throw, Jack then pulls on the red string, but it comes free from the left-most stack without affecting any of the cans. He cleverly decides to use the string and its attached coat-hanger as a grappling hook, though, and is able to at least fell a few cans from the central-right stack.

At the end of his attempt, Jack picks up and throws the entire plinth, and the force of this hitting the barrier appears to dislodge a few more cans from several of the stacks.

In the studio, after Greg suggests that Jack had looked like he was secretly enjoying the task, Jack admits that he’d found it cathartic, and wouldn’t mind doing it again.

Alex reveals that Jack had managed to knock down 68 cans during his attempt, which initially earns him second place. However, after Andy’s disqualification, Jack is moved up one place and earns 5 points.
