Anne intimidates a monkey
Anne has to apply to become a teacher.
In particular, she chooses to demonstrate her disciplinary skills to Principal Tom Cashman, as an in-person application.
She walks into the study and greets Principal Cashman while holding some sheets of coloured paper. There is a toy monkey wearing a hat and holding a pair of cymbals sitting on a stool in the room, who she explains is a student called Phil who’s been very naughty. She then rolls up one of the sheets of paper into a tube, while explaining that she’s going to demonstrate how she would handle the situation.
Anne then plays out the scene, in which she also voices Phil with a little high-pitched voice. Her approach is very intense and mobster like, with her getting very close to Phil’s face and asking him questions in an intimidating tone.
She starts by questioning Phil about where he was yesterday and, when he claims that he was at the back of the class, retorts very aggressively that he definitely wasn’t. She then catches a smell on Phil and accuses him of smoking. When he claims that it’s his dad who smokes, she retorts that he doesn’t have a dad. She then starts intimidating Phil by talking about how he has left a little stain on her perfect record.
Having finished her grilling of poor Phil, Anne concludes her application, shaking Principal Cashman’s hand before leaving the room.
Tom Gleeson is not impressed by Anne’s approach as a teacher, so she earns just 1 point.
