Lloyd demonstrates his incredible range as an actor
Lloyd has to apply to become an actor.
He produces his video application in the form of a showreel, which is filmed as if shot on VHS, with him introducing each section included to demonstrate his acting range.
To demonstrate his ability to perform “action”, he includes a scene in which he sneaks up behind Tom Cashman (who is wearing sunglasses and holding a toy gun in front of the shed), then karate chops him and runs away.
To demonstrate his ability to perform “sadness”, he includes a scene where Tom appears to be lying dead in the bathtub, and Lloyd (wearing a wig and attempting an American accent) discovers him, reacting by crying and shouting “Johnny, you crazy son of a bitch! What have you done, Johnny?! What am I gonna do now Johnny?! Who’s gonna look after the kiiiids?!”.
To demonstrate his ability to play a “forest-based monster”, he includes a scene which features him walking through the woods wearing a brown wig and wielding a hammer, growling as if he's possessed, before attacking Tom on the shoulder (who then runs away).
Lloyd then demonstrates his ability to play a “restless baby”, lying under a blanket in a small boat made to look like a big crib, crying like a baby while Tom rocks the crib.
Lloyd’s final showreel scene shows him playing a “pornographic film star”. Lloyd performs the role of an American handyman who’s just fixed a dishwasher for a lady (Tom wearing a red wig). When she flirtatiously asks Lloyd how she can repay him, he puts one leg up on something to reveal a ridiculously large bulge running down his inner thigh, which he strokes while telling her that he’s “got some ideas”.
Lloyd finishes off his video application by stating that everything included in his showreel was just a small taste of the sort of acting he was capable of.
Lloyd earns 4 points mainly because Tom Gleeson had enjoyed Lloyd saying the word ‘here’ in a Welsh accent during his introduction for each clip. After Tom makes Lloyd repeatedly say the word again in the studio and laughs at his accent, Lloyd points out that “This is now just televised racism”.
