Wil finally impresses Tom with a sketch

Wil has to apply to become an Australian Football League (AFL) player.

He begins his video application confidently, catching a football and walking towards the camera while introducing himself. He openly acknowledges that he’s not actually going to be very good on the field, but claims that he is really good at boasting. He then demonstrates his boasting abilities through a press conference scene, in which Tom Cashman asks Wil why his team had lost the game, and Wil responds by denying that they lost, claiming instead that it was the best game they’d ever played. He repeatedly insists that they’d won the game, and then calls Tom an idiot.

Next up, Wil demonstrates his distraction skills, by yelling “Look over there! It’s Tom!”, prompting the camera to pan over to show nothing. More footage is then shown from Wil’s press conference, in which Tom asks Wil about the news that two of his team-mates have been sleeping together. Wil responds with “Good on ‘em” and then focuses on talking about how proud the club is of the players’ bonding and closeness as a team.

Next up, Wil demonstrates his denial skills through more press conference footage in which he rebuts Tom’s accusations that Wil’s feet look a bit strange by going “mm-hmm” several times, and then claiming “I don’t have feet.”

Wil ends his video application by saying “I’m Wil Anderson, and my goal is to be an AFL footballer” before giving two middle fingers to the camera.

Wil earns 5 points from Tom Gleeson, who’s is blown away that he’d finally made a good sketch.
