Anne scores the film
Anne is in charge of the soundtrack to Lloyd’s martial arts film.
She opts to mainly use the keyboard, her voice (with effects), and the accordion.
For the opening scene, she begins by playing some simple piano notes, but then plays some extended and tense accordion notes when the villain begins talking. As Timmy dies, she plays some erratic keys at a fast tempo, before slowing down as the life drains out of him. As Master Snake disappears in a puff of smoke, she plays some magical sounding jingles.
After the film’s time jump, Anne adds some drums and more simple piano keys. While Jimmy gives his monologue, she adds some scattered guitar strums over it, and then in the training montage plays some punchy action music with faster tempo, some funky synthy piano, and drums.
In the build-up to the first fight scene, some harsh drums are heard, before the action music returns once the action begins. As Master Snake appears after the fight, Anne uses voice effects while singing into the microphone, adding a particularly loud scream as Jenny begins the final fight scene.
The film ends with some guitar and also a song playing over the credits, featuring Tom Cashman on guitar, and Anne singing the lyrics:
Little twins in the middle of the night
Along came a Swede, he was looking for a fight
He killed his brother
Their poor mother
I can hear her screaming
Screaming
She’s screaming
She’s screaming
Unholy fists of the very aggravated Scout
Unholy fists of the very aggravated Scout-Scout-Scout-Scout-Scout
Tom Gleeson awards Anne 4 points for her original score.
