Andy finds no dignity in his failure

When Andy arrives in the lab, Alex asks whether he’s prepared for everything. When Alex ironically comments that Andy is wearing “brand new gloves” (they’re actually pretty worn), Andy responds that he’s been waiting a long time to be on the show.

As he attempts to memorise the names of the mannequin heads, he notes that he doesn’t fancy his chances.

In the lab, he correctly identifies Izzy, Gordo, and three others (not seen in the footage of his attempt). He incorrectly guesses that Dina is named Dora.

After Andy enters the living room for the second part of the task, Alex asks him whether he’s pleased to see the mannequin heads again. Andy responds that he's pleased to see some of them, but it’s a bit awkward with the others.

Having read the task brief, he correctly identifies Izzy. He looks underneath Gordo’s beard before guessing that he’s named “Ahoy”, based on the word on his hat (while acknowledging that it’s “too obvious”).

Deciding to base his guesses on the accessories each mannequin is wearing, Andy then incorrectly names The Yank Tank as “Flight Commander Biggles”, Trev as “Doggy” (based on his collar), Dina as “Marilyn” (presumably due to resembling Marilyn Monroe), and Chisel as “Duncan Goodhew”.

When Andy’s time has run out, Alex consoles him by saying that he “didn’t get a duck”, but Andy responds that he felt like getting just one right was worse than getting none, stating “there’s a dignity in total failure”.

In the studio, Andy says the task was quite hard for him, claiming that it was quite similar to “the jury in… the trial”, before stating that he doesn’t want to discuss that any further. Alex reveals that additional names that Andy had come up with in the living room were “Veldorama” and “Baldy.

Andy receives 2 points for only remembering one name.
