Andy performs like a professional
Andy takes a look at the names on the ‘safe list’ and spots that they are all people with the last name ‘Brown’, so correctly deduces that the brown wire is safe, and cuts it.
Andy then opens and tries the wine, and asks Alex if he’d made it himself. Although he looks at the number on its label, he does not deduce that it spells out ‘safe’, but decides to cut the red wire anyway, because it “felt safe”.
Looking at the framed picture, he deduces that blue is the danger colour, based on the presence of the “moon with a danger sign on it”.
Andy then cuts the black wire, but it’s not clear what his rationale for doing so was, since he had not opened the safe (he had perhaps just deduced that the black wire was safe based on the fact that the safe was black).
With just the yellow and blue wires remaining uncut at this point (we do not see him cutting the green or grey wires), he goes back to the framed picture and decides that blue is the danger colour, and so he cuts the yellow wire.
In the studio, Greg characterises Andy as having performed “like a professional”, prompting Andy to respond with “Yeah, well, I worked for 20 years in bomb disposal.”
Alex reveals that Andy was the fastest to complete the task, so he earns 5 points.
