Rosie suffers for Alex’s incompetence

Rosie takes a look at the names on the ‘safe list’ and spots that they are all people with the last name ‘Brown’ so correctly deduces that the brown wire is safe, and instructs Alex to cut it.

She then finds the wine and deduces that the fact that it’s red means that the red wire is safe, so instructs Alex to cut that one.

Rosie then spots the missing colour segment on the colour wheel, and correctly deduces that it should be yellow, and so has Alex cut the yellow wire.

She then spots the phone on the ceiling and Alex pulls it down for her. After looking at it, she spots the ‘0000’ code and correctly deduces that it’s the code to open the safe under the table. After opening the safe and finding the rugby ball and kiwi fruit inside, she correctly deduces that the black wire is safe, and so Alex cuts that for her.

Rosie then looks around and spots the green ‘safe’ sign outside the dome, so Alex cuts the green wire for her.

With just 20 seconds remaining, Alex tells her that she has just the grey and blue wires remaining. After a brief panic, Rosie tells Alex to cut the ‘grey’ wire. Alex for some reason delays cutting any wires, announcing that there are now just three seconds remaining, and then cuts the grey wire just as the clock reaches zero.

Blue powder spews from the top of the robot, prompting Rosie to ask if her decision had been wrong. When Alex admits that he’d just been slow to cut it, Rosie yells at him, “So I would’ve done it, if you had done your fucking job!”.

In the studio, Rosie complains that “Cos I’m disabled, I had to work with that dickhead.” Alex reveals that she’d picked the correct wire to cut with about eight seconds remaining on the clock, and so posits that whether she should earn points or not from her attempt would depend on whether or not it’s possible to cut a wire in eight seconds, which he claims he doesn’t think it is.

Greg states that, fortunately, Alex has no authority, and rules that Rosie’s failure had been caused by his incompetence, and that she should therefore earn 3 points. He then tells Alex to “Stop. Hating. People. With. Disabilities.”
