Abby sets her movie in the far-flung future of 2027

When Abby spins the wheel, it lands on the genre of ‘Sci-Fi’, but she admits that she was kind of hoping for ‘War’. When Abby asks Paul if the trailer has to appear as a trailer, he says she can use it anyway she wants, so she decides to turn it into a spaceship.

In the studio, Jeremy notes how Abby’s mind had gone straight to war, and she admits that she’d be lying if she said she didn’t enjoy military strategy. This prompts Ben to suggest that military strategy is like a puzzle (referring to Tom’s prize task), except that people die.

Abby’s trailer begins with text indicating that it’s the year 2027. Abby, riding on the trailer, whizzes across the screen. We then see a close-up of Abby in the trailer, which has been labelled ‘The Bird’.

In voice-over, Abby says, “Video log 4573 - day 56, year 27, month 9.” Abby records in her log that she has discovered a planet. She then initiates a landing sequence. As she puts her helmet on, she says “This is a small step for man, but a giant leap for me.”, then adding “Because I have short legs.”

Abby gets out of her trailer spacecraft and investigates the surface of the new planet, where she unexpectedly finds a broom on the ground. After asking “What’s this? There should not be a broom here!” she removes her helmet and runs to get back to her ship, accompanied by dramatic music.

Back inside her ship, Abby attempts to contact earth on the radio, claiming that there is someone on the planet, and asking them to pass on the message “I’m sorry” to her son, if she doesn’t make it home.

As the dramatic music stops, we hear the sound of a brush, and see the broom moving, before the camera pans up to reveal Paul, dressed in overalls and a flat cap.

The title of the film then appears, revealing that it is named ‘Intersweeper’.

In the studio, Ben says he did not see “that creep” coming at the end, and Abby reveals that it was actually the character Jean-Pierre from her Les Misérables-inspired attempt at the goal celebration task. Abby says that she had relied on her acting skills to sell the trailer, and then adds that she really shouldn’t have. When Jeremy points out that she’d chosen to set her futuristic movie in the year 2027, Abby argues that Elon Musk will get us up there by then.

Abby earns just 1 point for her sci-fi trailer.
