Abby and Tofiga perform impressions while Tom builds a tower

Tom volunteers to build the tower, while Abby and Tofiga perform the impressions.

Abby first asks Paul for box 29, on which is written ‘The witch from Hansel and Gretel’. She puts on an accent and speaks in a deep voice while talking about a house made of gingerbread, so Tom quickly guesses the correct answer.

Abby then requests box 45, which has ‘David Bowie’ written on it. Abby mimics playing a guitar before attempting a British accent and calling herself a “star man”, and Tom again quickly guesses the correct answer.

Tofiga takes over the role of performing impressions, and chooses box 7, upon which ‘The knife from Psycho’ is written. He performs a stabbing motion with his hand, while making high-pitched creaky noises like from the soundtrack of the movie, leading Tom to sensibly guess “Norman Bates” and then “Alfred Hitchcock”. Tofiga then starts putting a bit more emphasis on the imaginary knife he is wielding, which eventually prompts Tom to verbalise that Tofiga is holding a knife. Tofiga then guides him towards the correct answer by saying “…from…”, and Tom finally states the full correct phrase.

Tom stacks the boxes directly on top of one another, placing the largest ones at the bottom and the smallest on top.

Abby takes over the role of performing impressions again, and requests box 53, which has ‘The green M&M’ written on it. Abby starts acting sexily, in an old-fashioned way, leading Tom to first guess “Marilyn Monroe”, before Abby states that she’s made of chocolate, and says the M&M slogan “Melt in the mouth, not in the hand”. Tom correctly guesses that Abby is the green M&M, and places the new and slightly bigger box on top of the tower.

The team next requests box 4, which has ‘Ernest Rutherford’ written on it, whom neither Abby nor Tofiga are familiar with. After they decide to just say his name out loud and move to the next box, Paul knocks their whole tower over.

Tofiga requests box 14, which has ‘Neville Longbottom’ written on it. After Tofiga starts talking about doing magic, Tom guesses “Harry Potter”. When Tofiga then asks him who’d played Harry Potter, Tom correctly identifies the actor as Daniel Radcliffe. Paul steps in to point out that Neville Longbottom is a different character, which is news to Tofiga, who hasn’t seen the films or read the books. Tofiga has to resort to other means to convey the name, referring to what he’s sitting on (prompting Tom to guess “chair” and “arse”), before hinting “Not the top, but the…”, prompting Tom to get ‘bottom’ and then fill in the details to arrive at “Neville Longbottom” himself.

After requesting box 6, which has ‘Tom Cruise in Top Gun’ written on it, Tofiga puts on an American accent and starts talking about flying jet planes in the army. Tom correctly guesses “Tom Cruise” but, as he goes to collect the box, Paul points out that he needs to also guess the specific role being played by the actor, which he easily able to do.

Having collected several wider boxes at this point, Tom has been stacking them on their smallest edges in an attempt to make the tower as tall as possible.

Abby next requests box 10, which has ‘Paris Hilton’ written on it, and puts on an American accent while saying “That’s hoooooot”. Tom correctly identifies Paris Hilton, but then their tower gets blown over by the wind.

Next, Tofiga requests box 9, which has ‘Velociraptor’ written upon it. He makes some deep little roars and holds his hands up in front of himself, while referring to “millions of years ago”. After Tom correctly guesses that it’s a dinosaur, he correctly narrows in on the specific species.

At this point, Tom has constructed a rather unstable tower of boxes, which is topped with some long boxes which are stood up on their smallest sides.Abby next requests an egg carton which has ‘Michael Caine’ written on it. She attempts a proper impression of the actor by putting on a cockney accent and using quotes from several of his films, but Tom is apparently too distracted with building the tower to identify him.

Tom has made two stacks of boxes, and then tries to lift the smaller stack up and place it on top of the larger one, but it falls apart and he ends up only getting the bottom two boxes in the stack into place. As time runs out, he tries placing another box on top, but then several of the boxes fall off the stack, leaving then team with a tower consisting of just two boxes.

The team’s tower is measured at just 78cm, so they only earn 2 points.
