Tom admires Paul’s catapult skills

Tom follows Paul to the catapult, and Paul tells him to stand back as it’s fired, as “It’s quite full-on”. Tom states that it is dangerous-looking. As Paul begins to operate the catapult, Tom comments that he is good at it. After Paul launches a ball from the catapult, Tom is able to gauge how far his egg might travel.

Tom fetches some wooden step-ladders and places them next to one another, roughly where he thinks the egg might land. When Paul asks him what the ladders are for, Tom explains that he is going to suspend a tarp or a sheet between them, to catch the egg in.

Tom is then seen running back from the shed with an uninflated, inflatable swimming pool. As he tries to drape it over the ladders, he struggles, and end sup knocking the ladders over.

After a rethink, Tom emerges from the caravan carrying a cushion. He stuffs the egg inside the cushion, and then positions himself near the ladders, holding up the uninflated swimming pool.

Tom shouts “Goodluck, egg!” as Paul prepares the catapult. He then drops the pool, claiming that he’s going to “raw-dog it” instead.

Although Tom’s egg does not travel far enough to reach him, it remains intact.

In the studio, when Jeremy comments on how impressed Tom seemed to be that Paul could operate a catapult, Tom points out that it’s not a skill you need in everyday life. Paul responds by claiming that he grew up in a really rough medieval neighbourhood.

Tom earns 4 points for protecting his egg.
