Tom’s puppet-based Beyoncé biopic

The twentieth person on Tom’s list is Beyoncé. His biopic takes the form of a puppet show titled ‘Beyoncé… Say My Name’.

Tom narrates Beyoncé’s early life, covering how she was born in Texas, and had then met Kelly Rowland, with whom she’d sung gospel in church before forming Destiny’s Child. The band is represented by four faces drawn on paper, with googly eyes. The band’s break-up is then represented by the piece of paper being cut in half.

Tom uses a separate puppet of Beyoncé with blonde curly hair to tell the story of how she met Jay-Z in the early 2000s, and that they then had three children together. He then claims that they lived happily ever after.

In the studio, Jeremy states that ‘Say my name’ is a very good biopic title. Tom admits that he did consider whether he should play Beyoncé and Jay-Z himself, but had decided against it.

When Paul points out that Tom had written Beyoncé’s year of birth as 1981 (which was correct), but had spoken “1989”, Tom explains that he was in “Taylor Swift mode”.

Tom’s puppet biopic earns him 2 points.
