Ben and Hayley attempt to have cohesive conversations

In the first round, Ben and Hayley choose topic 4, which is ‘A recent holiday you took’. Hayley starts by saying she hasn’t had a holiday for a while because of “all the renovations” and, makes a hammering gesture. Ben picks up on this and says “Cos of your house!”, adding that there are two men working on it, and then acting out two men hammering. Hayley responds that people are working on the house all day, and then asks Ben if he has been on holiday. He says that the last holiday he went on was to New Caledonia, in response to which Hayley nods and says “Lovely”. Ben begins to say something about it being in political turmoil, but Paul waves his red flag to signal that time is up. Jeremy decides that the team of two had a less cohesive conversation, so they lose round one.
In the second round, Ben chooses topic 6, which is ‘The game on the weekend’. Hayley starts by saying “Boy oh boy, Ben, I’ve gotta up the Wahs!”, accompanied by a celebratory upwards point. Ben replies calmly, stating that he also enjoys the Warriors rugby league team. He then shares that next year they are going to have a female team, and to illustrate this he uses his hands to suggest boobs on his chest. Hayley responds with “Love that for them”, as she lifts her own boobs up. She then asks Ben if he thinks they are going to be “chucking”, as she mimes a throwing action, and Ben agrees they will “pass the ball and stuff”. Hayley then counts to three, and they both shout “Up the wahs!” together, just as Paul signals the end of their time. Before sitting down, Hayley asks Ben what his “boob” action meant. After he explains, she claims that that’s exactly what she’d understood. Jeremy rules that the team of two had a more coherent conversation, so they win the second round.
For the third round, only topics 3 and 5 remain. Hayley shouts “Three is my favourite number”, and Paul goes to reveal topic 3, before stopping himself to double-check what number Hayley actually wants. Hayley chooses topic 5, which is ‘The 1989 film Honey I Shrunk the Kids’. Hayley starts by telling Ben that she was born in 1989, which Ben observes makes her nine years older than him (although he probably meant to say ‘younger’, as Hayley goes on to say he must have been nine when he saw the film). Ben points out that the lead actor in the film was Rick Moranis, and then makes his fingers into the shape of glasses on his face. Hayley replies by stating that the goggles were the best bit. Ben repeats the name “Rick Moranis”, emphasising the syllables, and pointing to his bottom for the final syllable, “anis”. Hayley states that her favourite bit of the film was when the kids are “so small”, and crouches down to emphasise this. Ben responds by repeating “so small” just as Paul indicates that their time is up. Jeremy subsequently claims that the team of three’s conversation was one of the worst he had ever witnessed, so the team of two wins the third round.
Having won two of the three rounds, Ben and Hayley win the task and earn 5 points each.
