Ben and Hayley recreate American Gothic

Hayley points, and briefly suggests that they recreate The Creation of Adam. When she notes that Ben would need to be naked, Paul gets excited by the idea.
The pair instead opt to recreate American Gothic by Grant Wood. Hayley says that all she can remember about it is that the characters in the painting look like they’ve had a tiff, but are at a barbecue and so can’t talk about it. Ben agrees, noting that it looks like “any marriage before 1960”.
In their recreation, Ben is holding a makeshift pitchfork, and is wearing round glasses, and part of a football on his head to make him look bald, while Hayley has her hair tied back and is wearing a black top and an apron.
While they hold their poses, Hayley begins angrily whispering to Ben, stating “We’ll talk about what happened when we get home”. When Ben responds that he knew he was going to “get it”, Hayley notes that this is “the only thing you’re gonna be getting”. She goes onto state that he doesn’t touch her anymore, before adding “Stupid pitchfork”. Hayley then asks Ben if he’s going to make chicken skewers with the pitchfork, before claiming that he always undercooks them and gives her a “sore tummy”.
When Paul blows his whistle, the pair look at one another and nod in agreement that it was really good. Hayley then tells Ben that if his hair starts to thin, he’ll look alright.
In the studio, Jeremy notes that there was a bald wig in the house they could have used, and asks where that was. Hayley explains that she’d gone to get her hair and make-up done, and Ben had already cut open the football before she’d returned, so although she knew where the bald wig was, it was already too late. Chris Parker, representing Tofiga in the studio, notes how crazy it was that Ben’s head had fit so perfectly inside the ball, and Ben states that it was “quite comfy”.
Ben and Hayley each earn 5 points for their living artwork.
