John sabotages Dara and Fern

Here's a description of the contestant's attempt. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to illustrate it.

Fern stands at the front of her team's conga-line, with John behind her with one of his hands on one of her hips, and Dara at the back with both of his hands on John's hips. After John's secret sabotage task is revealed in studio, Dara admits that it's a bit of a relief as, at the time of the task, he'd just thought John was an idiot. As the team heads to find out where the sand is, Fern refers to John as 'dafty in the middle', thus coining the episode's title. As Fern fills a top hat with sand, John 'helpfully' brushes sand from the top of the pile with a small broom he has found, spreading it out further. While Fern then fills a large plastic measuring cylinder with sand, John upends the top hat on the deck, creating a perfect sand-top-hat. After this is noticed by his team-mates, Fern puts the sand back in the top hat again. They then spot the planters, and fill one of those with sand, too. As the team then backs through the ropes and off of the deck, John points out that he doesn't want to knock over the top hat, all the while intentionally backing into it with his foot. However, Dara is supervising the situation, and is able to rescue the hat before it goes off the edge. They aim to fill another planter, but realise they are short on time, so set off to fetch the shopping trolley. Fern places all of the filled containers of sand into the shopping trolley from outside of the deck. John then pretends to be confused by the details of the task, badly emptying the top hat and measuring cylinder's contents into the planter, and ensuring that most of it ends up on the ground instead, while his teammates scream at him, wondering what the hell he is doing. In the studio, Alex reveals that the team had just 20.9kg of sand left in their trolley at the end, meaning that they lost the task, but John won his sabotage task and earned five points.
