Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Fern says she thinks the Marmite and porridge ice cream tastes looks like it's going to be "poop-flavoured", but she then decides that it is "crisps" flavour. Her guess at the curry and naan bread flavour is "Coronation chicken", and she guesses "Mexican" for the cornflakes and chilli flavour. He initial guess for the fourth is "cream flavour", but she then suggests that maybe it's "breast milk", after Alex questions her first thought. She then correctly guesses that white chocolate and macaroni cheese flavour contains "white chocolate", but continues to insist that it is breast milk-based. For the bechamel sauce and brussel sprout flavour, she suggests that it is "petrol or something" and then "salt and petrol". Alex reveals that she correctly guessed three of the ten flavours, earning her joint second.
  • Sarah's first comment, upon tasting the Marmite and porridge ice cream, is "What the fuck is that?!" Her first guess at the flavour is "dog biscuits", which she describes as "fucking vile". Her guess at the curry and naan bread flavour is "curry powder", and she guesses the cornflakes and chilli flavour is "chilli and mango". She thinks the white chocolate and macaroni cheese flavour is just "vanilla", but then also guesses that it is "something cheesy" (though she apparently doesn't get a point for this). It's not clear what she guessed for the bechamel sauce and brussel sprout flavour. Alex reveals that she correctly guessed two of the ten flavours, earning her fourth place.
  • Munya is unwilling to eat any of the ice cream because of his "no sugar diet", so tastes the minimum possible amount of each by touching the tip of his tongue to them, and by using his sense of smell. His guess at the Marmite and porridge flavour is "dog food", and he guesses "tandoori" for the curry and naan bread flavour. He guesses that the cornflakes and chilli flavour is "mash", based on its consistency, and that the white chocolate and macaroni cheese flavour is "coconut liquorice". He tastes a tiny bit of the sauce from the bechamel sauce and brussel sprout puree ice cream and guesses that it is "olive green smoothie" flavoured. In the studio, Alex reveals that Munya only correctly guessed one of the ten flavours present in the ice creams, earning him last place.
  • Dara correctly identifies the white chocolate in the white chocolate and macaroni cheese flavour. The cornflakes and chilli flavour proves a little too spicy for him (leading him to request a glass of water), but he does correctly identify the chilli. He correctly identifies that the curry and naan bread flavour contains curry, and that the Marmite and porridge flavour contains Marmite. With four flavours identified correctly, he earns first place in the task.
  • John genuinely seems to enjoy the white chocolate and macaroni cheese flavour, and correctly identifies that it contains white chocolate, but thinks that the "bits" in it are "marshmallow". He incorrectly guesses that the cornflakes and chilli flavour contains "wasabi", and guesses that the curry and naan bread flavour is "tikka massala", which is counted as correct. He also identifies the Marmite in the Marmite and porridge flavour. Overall, he comes joint second, having correctly identified three flavours.
