Tim makes Alex breach the pies

Tim immediately identifies that the task only specifies that he may not personally breach the pies, and asks Alex to punch the pies for him.

He is able to determine using this method that one of the pies contains a picture, and one of them contains beef.

Presumably fearing the damage that punching them might do to his hand, Alex then offers to ‘unscrew’ the top of the frozen pea and marble pies, revealing their contents.

Finally, Alex completely flattens the toothpaste pie with the palm of his hand, allowing Tim to determine its contents by sight and smell.

Back in the studio, Josh and Romesh are outraged that Tim and Roisin had breached the pies indirectly with Alex’s assistance, but Greg sees nothing wrong with their approach, in line with the wording of the task.

Tim earns first place in the task for his innovative approach.
