Danielle's knots fail her

Danielle decides to increase her chances of getting the pencil through the aubergine by cutting a large hole in it with a knife, and then using part of its own flesh to wedge the hole open wider.

She then ties the pencil to the end of a step-ladder using fishing wire, and then uses the ladder to extend her reach, to insert the pencil into the vegetable.

Unfortunately, her knots appear not to be doing the job of holding the pencil in place, and it pivots sideways as she jabs it into the aubergine.

She subsequently pokes the pencil in further using her hand, but it does appear that it was genuinely in the hole she had created before then.

As she attempts to leave the scene of the task, she gets caught up in her own fishing wire.

In the studio, Tom Cashman reveals that Danielle's distance was 2.2 metres, which earns her fourth place.
