Kathrine uses her shoes

Realising that the sand bridge will need something sturdy within it to stay standing, Kathrine looks around the room for anything that she might be able to use.

Although it is not shown in the edit, she initially experiments with trying to make a bridge using the model trees (but this presumably fails because they are not large enough to span the river and allow an egg to pass underneath).

She then removes her tan-and-orange-coloured Crocs, and leans them against one other, to create an arch shape across the river.

Once stabilised, she begins to pile wet sand on the flat area where the two heels of the Crocs meet.

She then carefully balances the egg on top of this sand platform, and her bridge holds.

In the studio, Kathrine attempts to defend her bridge by saying that her shoes were “sand-coloured”.

Anders makes a pun about how Kathrine had, in fact, built a “sandal” bridge.

Kathrine is disqualified, however, after it is determined that she did not build a qualifying sand bridge.
