Mona has no plan
Mona’s attempt is shown as part of a montage of contestants who had particular difficulty with the task.
She starts figuring out how long each item takes to do its thing, but seems to abandon that process halfway through and starts trying to have everything go at once.
Mona definitely does not have a plan, simply dealing with problems as they arise.
She seems to recognise the candles are trick candles (she comments on the “little white dots” coming out of the flame) but never does anything to ensure they do not relight.
Eventually, Mona is able to get everything but the monsters to do their thing, and she blows at the candles (which remain lit) while clapping, insisting that she has won.
Mona is therefore disqualified.
