Marte’s stolen shirt

Before the group convene to sell Ronny their gifts, Marte reveals that she holds the belief that the best gift that can be given is something that the recipient believes they have lost for good. She thus pulls out a shirt from her shopping bag, revealing that it is in fact Ronny’s favourite shirt, which Ronny’s wife had stolen for her several weeks prior.

She has also included a pack of ankle socks in the bag, because she knows he wears them almost exclusively.

When trying to sell her gift to Ronny, Marte admits to him that she has stolen something from him, and that she knows he misses it, and shares that she has also put something else in her bag that she knows he needs.

Ronny asks if anything in Marte’s bag is edible, and she confirms that neither item is edible.

While Ronny does want to know what Marte has stolen from him, he ultimately refuses to bow to what he sees as extortion, so he ranks Marte’s bag as the second-most desirable, awarding her 4 points.
