Marie-Lyne is inspired by sprinklers

Marie-Lyne wonders if any of the other contestants have built something that will allow them to spin something for quarter of an hour or longer.

She searches the shed for spinnable objects, and comes across a small bicycle. However, she initially discards her idea, instead asking Antoine if a sprinkler’s movement would count as a rotation. Antoine expresses his opinion that the sprinklers do not spin, but rather move in a back-and-forth arcing motion. Unwilling to give up on the sprinklers idea, Marie-Lyne then wonders if she can construct something for the sprinklers to hit, meaning that the item could spin in perpetuity.

Marie-Lyne does eventually abandon the sprinklers in favour of a hosepipe, which she positions to constantly spray at the wheel of the bicycle she’d found in the shed, using a pile of bricks.

Marie-Lyne’s perpetual spinning machine earns her first place, with Louis noting that residents of the surrounding area will surely be glad to finally know why their water pressure has been so low for so long.
