Victor misses a marker
Victor questions whether he actually has to carry the pole through the course with him, which leads Mark to ask if Victor had really won his season of Stormester. Victor points out that paying close attention to the wording of the tasks is often beneficial.
After reading the task brief again, Victor removes the pole from the base and suddenly gets an idea. He puts the pole back in the base, and informs Mark of his plan: he will remove all of the markers, and then use them to make a new, easier course for himself to follow.
Having set up a much easier, circular course around the outside of the house for himself, Victor opts to start with the pole at its full length. However, by the time he reaches the mailbox, Victor realises that he has missed one of the markers there, and must therefore still pass his pole through it. He accepts the penalties he incurs while doing so, and then quickly finishes the rest of his course.
Having started with an 8.5 metre pole, Victor makes just five errors (most of which were at the mailbox), resulting in a finishing length of 8 metres.
However, Mark then plays some additional footage that reveals that Victor had also missed one of the markers inside the house, meaning that he had not actually completed the entire course after all. Victor is therefore disqualified.
