Calle’s pepper spray

Throughout the presentation of other contestants’ prize submission, Calle has remained rather stone-faced, leading Atle to occasionally check on him and see if he has been moved by any of the prizes. Each time, Calle simply replies that he has not, and does not elaborate further

When it is finally his turn to present his own prize, Calle says that there are only three things that have brought him to tears: videos of dogs being reunited with (or parted from) their owners, videos of military personnel surprising their families, and pepper spray – a bottle of which he has brought in as his prize.

When Atle presses Calle to elaborate on his personal experience with pepper spray, Calle feigns hostility, claiming that he isn’t on Lindmo (a story-focused talk show), and that it is not appropriate for Atle to dig into his personal life.

Atle awards Calle last place, after which Calle threatens to test the spray on him.
