Solveig melts a hand wagon
Solveig fills a hand wagon with wood and starts a fire inside it, supplementing it with a judicious amount of lighter fluid.
She then pushes the wagon forward until it is directly beneath the candelabra, and then steps backwards towards the garage, causing the candles to be lowered down into the flames.
Solveig’s excitement soon turns to panic as she realises that the candles have started to melt, but that the wicks themselves have yet to light. She desperately tries to reposition the candelabra by adjusting its height.
Miraculously, all four wicks on Solveig’s candles light without the rope suspending them catching fire. However, soon after Olli stops the clock, the rope does burn through, dropping the candelabra and all the candles directly into the burning fire below, where the wagon itself has begun to melt.
As Solveig and Olli watch the wagon and its contents burning, she notes that “the whole Advent candlestick is burning”, thus coining the episode title.
In the studio, Atle proclaims that he loves that Kongen Befaler brings out Solveig’s “evil and crazy” side.
Solveig lights the candles in 9 minutes and 3 seconds, and earns third place.
