Charlotta makes the popcorn dangerous
Charlotta reasons that the best way to keep David from eating the popcorn is to make it as disgusting as possible.
After searching the house, Charlotta returns with a bottle of dish soap, a carton of sour milk, a bottle of mustard, and a bottle of rubbing alcohol, the contents of all of which she pours over the popcorn. She tops this all off with a generous layer of spray paint.
David enters the room and picks through the popcorn, while Charlotta warns him that it is topped with “a decent amount” of ethanol, among other things.
David pours the popcorn out onto the desk, searching for an untainted piece, while Charlotta insists that the ethanol would have thoroughly soaked through to the bottom.
Despite Charlotta’s repeated warnings, David picks a piece from near the bottom of the pile and eats it. Given his resulting facial expression, Charlotta was correct to warn him that the ethanol would have reached the bottom layers of the popcorn.
Charlotta protects the popcorn for 1 minute and 20 seconds, and earns fourth place.
