Behrouz strives for normalcy

Behrouz picks up the jar of durian and smells it, immediately retching and declaring that it smells like ammonia.

He looks over the other items on the table, and reasons that at least one contestant will eat the cat food, believing that no-one else will eat it, as it is the second-worst item on the table, after the durian (which, according to Behrouz, if someone eats it, they have “other problems”).

Wondering at the strength of the chili pepper, Behrouz presses it to his tongue. This apparently dislodges a seed, giving him a stronger taste of the flavour, and leading Behrouz to say that his tongue feels like it has just been pierced.

David asks Behrouz what he thinks the other contestants will do. Behrouz believes that out of everyone, Maria would be the most likely to eat the cat food, as she gives off “crazy cat lady vibes” (which he quickly corrects to “nice, lovely cat-girl vibes”). Behrouz believes that Mauri, who runs a food-based YouTube channel, will dip the chili pepper in the durian and eat it, then eat the other delicacies after the task has completed, “just because he can”.

Believing himself the most normal of the five contestants (and likely frightened by the other four items on offer), Behrouz eats the piece of chocolate.

Behrouz earns joint fourth place.
