Sofie casts herself as a goddess

While introducing the footage of Sofie’s attempt, Mark makes sure to inform viewers that he had given his full consent for what happened to him – specifically, getting “hosed in the face by a big cannon”.

For her water installation, Sofie decides to reinterpret the myth of Gefion. More specifically, she is reinterpreting the Gefion Fountain in Copenhagen, having cast Mark – clad in a walrus kigurumi (the same one later used by Petra during her attempt at the ‘Transform the lab while the lights are out’ task) and large plastic horns – as one of Gefion’s oxen children, and herself as Gefion.

Sofie has a hose clipped onto the back of her shirt and positioned in relation to the camera so that when she opens her mouth and turns on the hose, it creates the illusion that she is shooting water out of her mouth and into Mark’s (this illusion is broken via some close-up shots, where the hose head is clearly visible).

In the studio, Sofie states that everyone knows the Gefion Fountain, which makes it iconic, and claims that as hers is a reinterpretation, she does not need to justify it any further. She does, however, admit that the footage had made it look better than she had thought it would.

Lasse awards Sofie second place.
