Kristoffer’s charitable donation

Kristoffer says that his grey hoodie – which he has worn for all tasks and studio recordings for both this special and his own season of Kongen Befaler – inspires him.

He stands and removes the garment for the first time, eliciting gasps and cheers from his fellow contestants, as well as the audience, as he reveals that he is wearing a simple black shirt beneath. Atle likens it to the day KISS removed their make-up.

Kristoffer explains that the night before his first day of recording in the theatre for his season, he had spent the entire night in the hospital, looking after his one-year-old son, who suffered from severe febrile seizures. He says that the only clean clothes he had on him were his task outfit, which he had kept in his car, which was why he’d worn the same outfit for all of the studio sessions during his season, as well.

After reassuring everyone that his son is now just fine, he says that while he’d been staying in the hospital, he’d realised that he wanted to help other hospitalised children however he could, and had ultimately decided to raise money for Sykehusbarna (‘Hospital Children Foundation’).

He announces that he’d managed to raise just over 35,000 kroner (around £2,600 / US$3,300) from others, to which he’d then added 15,000 kroner (around £1,120 / US$1,420) of his own money.

As a representation of his efforts, he presents a novelty-sized check made out to the foundation for the full amount of 50,835 kroner.

To help lighten the mood, Olli jokingly awards Kristoffer last place. Atle, however, genuinely awards Kristoffer first place.
