Maria speedruns the task

Maria’s attempt is shown as part of a montage with Behrouz’s and Charlotta’s attempts, so only snippets of her efforts are shown.

Maria starts out matching David’s time very closely, until the maths portion of the task. She apparently does not complete the sum, as she is unable to unlock the box to retrieve the gloves. At this point, Maria’s clock is somehow nearly a full minute behind David’s clock.

Incredibly, by the time David starts to make his balloon dog, Maria’s clock is somehow a full 2 minutes and 20 seconds behind David’s, and no explanation is given as to how this massive time gap had been achieved.

Just as Maria is marvelling at David’s ability to make a balloon dog, David’s balloon prematurely pops. Maria then understandably matches this part of David’s actions, making and then popping her own balloon dog.

Attempting to plough on regardless, David still “kills” his balloon dog by stabbing the already popped balloon with the pencil, and then Maria follows suit.

Maria’s timer ends at 4:20, while David’s is at 6:18.

After amassing 20 seconds worth of penalties, she ends up with a time difference of 2 minutes and 18 seconds, and earns last place.
