Behrouz focuses on the wrong details

Behrouz immediately runs to the shed and grabs a hosepipe.

With his mouth wide open, he attempts to convey a question to David who, naturally, is unable to understand what he is being asked. By interpreting Behrouz’s vague gestures, David presumes that he is asking if the hosepipe is too long to suck the kombucha through, and so he responds that he believes that it should work.

Behrouz drags the hosepipe down to the wooded area and starts to untangle it there. He is disgusted to discover that some old water has been trapped inside of it.

After checking with David that he is allowed to move the kombucha, Behrouz picks up the entire plinth and carries it to the top of the hill near the house, intending to let gravity assist his drinking.

Behrouz secures the container to the plinth with duct tape, and spends some time fiddling with things like the exact position of the plinth, the hosepipe, and how to hold down the tap with duct tape without it leaking.

When David informs Behrouz that he has just one minute left, it transpires that Behrouz has been operating under the assumption that the 10 minutes dictated in the task brief was his preparation time, not the full task time. Panicked, Behrouz runs down the hill towards the other end of the hosepipe, only to discover that the kombucha is not flowing through it.

Despite David’s shouted encouragement at Behrouz to “get on the ground and suck”, Behrouz’s time runs out before he can drink any kombucha.

It is only after Behrouz’s attempt is over that David spots the kink in the hose that was causing the issues. Behrouz decides to drink a mouthful of kombucha from 39 metres away anyway, but since he did not do this within the time limit of the task, he earns only a participation point.
