Joanne tests out motherhood

Before she even finishes reading the task brief, Joanne makes the strategic choice to intentionally spill some of her baby, to lower the level and make the rest of the task easier to complete without further spills.

As she enters the caravan to do the dishes, she admits that she is “curious about motherhood”, and thinks that the task might therefore be good for her. While she does the washing-up, she observes that “Daddy Horne” is “hanging around outside doing fuck all”.

Joanne chooses to hang the laundry second. As she grabs a bedsheet out of the laundry basket, she accidentally knocks the basket to the ground. She orders Alex to pick up the basket, which he does, but he then refuses to also pick up the laundry item which was lying on the ground beneath it, so she has to very gently squat to reach it herself without spilling any of the baby.

The next chore Joanne completes is cleaning Greg’s shoes, which she does by dropping a cloth on the stage and then using her feet to manipulate it and wipe the mud off. As she does so, she notes “I’m trying to raise a jug of water here”.

Next up, Joanne heads to the area in front of the shed, where she uses the carpet sweeper to clean the rug. As she does so, she notes “There’s a suffragette turning in her grave somewhere”.

Joanne decides to change the baby’s nappy next. As she does so, inside the dome, Alex asks her if her “big, wet baby” has a name, and she responds with “Juicy”. As she exits the dome, she accidentally spills a little bit of Juicy onto the ground.

As she finally prepares some very lumpy milk for the baby, by the gate, she observes “This is why women breast-feed, cos this is a pain in the hole”.

In the studio, Alex reveals that Joanne had spilled about a sixth of her baby. She therefore earns 3 points.
