Sophie becomes a toilet roll ribbon dancer

Although Sophie initially takes a cautious approach to unravelling the toilet roll, the roll still fairly quickly tears before she’s been able to get much paper off.

She then switches to moving the toilet roll around in a circular motion above the plinth, to encourage the paper to unravel itself onto the stage. This circular motion then increases in size and speed, resulting in Sophie appearing to be performing some kind of low budget ribbon dancing act.

The strategy appears to be effective in terms of removing most of the paper quickly, so she then begins attempting to carefully thread the paper through the roll. As she does so, she tears the paper again, and takes another time penalty.

After Steve claims to have finished the task, Sophie drops her own toilet roll on the floor in order to give him a round of applause. She then asks him for some help with finding the end of her own roll, which he agrees to do.

After Steve helps her out and returns to his showboating activities, she tears the paper again and incurs another penalty, leading her to fling the tattered remains of her toilet roll up in the air in defeat.

After some further confusion after Alex mistakenly calls Joanne ‘Sophie’, when trying to tell Joanne she can resume the task, Joanne is able to complete the task, leaving Sophie in last place by default.

However, after everyone returns to their seats, Alex points out to Greg that only Joanne’s tube has been completely stripped of its paper. Everyone else, including Sophie, is disqualified for not having completed the task.
