Sophie’s dancing vole painting
Sophie brings in a painting she’d done of a dancing vole, in reference to her contribution to her team’s attempt at the ‘Create a picture of an animal doing something surprising’ task.
Although Nick voices that he thinks it’s great, Greg seems unimpressed, and challenges Sophie on why it is ‘extraordinary’, other than the fact that it demonstrates that she has some artistic ability (though he only acknowledges that it’s a GCSE-level of ability).
Sophie attempts to argue that it’s extraordinary because of how well she has painted the vole’s fur. Greg counters that instead of a dancing vole, it could actually be depicting a vole that has very recently died. Steve then chips in to share that he’d thought it was running into a fire.
Greg rules that the vole painting is “neither bad nor extraordinary”, but acknowledges that Sophie is “perfectly good at art”, and awards her 3 points.
