Sophie creates a portrait of Steve
As Sophie inspects and uses the contents of her hamper, she recalls having met Steve years ago, along with her grandad, and claims that they have strikingly similar faces, particularly their “ski slope nose”.
She begins her portrait by using the hot sauce as paint, creating a round face with the aforementioned “ski slope nose”. She uses something fine to represent the sides of his hair, and tears a paper plate in half to represent his eyes. As she’s painting Steve’s mouth with hot sauce, Sophie says she feels like Neil Buchanan (famous for creating large artworks from seemingly random objects during his work on the show Art Attack). She then uses the chocolate bar to represent the centre of his eyes, before painting the rest of his body with hot sauce. She adds most of the other items included in the hamper as items that Steve is holding in his hands.
Once content with her portrait, Sophie opens up the can of fizzy drink that Steve had shaken up before putting it in the hamper. Of course, since this task was probably filmed weeks after that event, the drink does not spray out of the can.
In the studio, Alex shows a photo on the screen as evidence of the fact that not only had Sophie and her grandad previously met Steve, but that the two men did in fact have some facial similarities. Sophie also reveals that her grandad had been “sloshed” that night, and had nearly been kicked out after insulting Melvyn Bragg’s book, calling it “shite”.
After Sophie’s portrait is revealed, Nick says he loves it, while Steve states that she’s made him look like a “Mr Man”. Greg agrees.
Ultimately, Greg decides that Sophie has captured Steve so well that he awards her 5 points.
