Episode 8: The hole with the little red flag

Episode synopsis
In this season finale, the contestants must count piece of macaroni into a Viking horn, get a pickleball into a golf hole without touching it, build a big flag, build a tower of cans while blindfolded, and survive a game of ‘Questions and Lies’.
Episode notes
At the start of the episode, Lasse is disturbed by Mark’s “finale sunglasses”, the frames of which are designed to resemble glittery parrots. Mark is wearing a second identical pair of sunglasses underneath them, which are revealed when Lasse asks him to remove the glasses. Lasse also claims that he had recently been very close to choosing that design of glasses for himself, so Mark offers him the spare pair.
Title context
During the ‘Get the ball in the hole without touching it’ task, Mark Le Fêvre informs any contestant who asks about it that the hole they’re looking for is “The hole with the little red flag”.

Taskmaster Intro
Welcome to Stormester. Tonight is the night when it all gets decided. Tonight, our five contestants will be branded for life. But only one of them will win the coveted prize, and in less than an hour can raise their clenched fists in victory. It will be one of these people.
Assistant Intro
I’d like to start by quoting the soul singer Gabrielle: “Dreams do come true”. Because last night, I dreamt that I would be sitting next to you, Mark Le Fêvre. What the fuck is going on?
Taskmaster's Sign-off
Well...maybe it wasn’t so stupid to get that tattoo. The deserved winner of season 9 of Stormester: David Minerba. If you’ve just tuned in, you missed it all. But don’t worry: it’s not the last season of Stormester. Thanks for tonight.
Note: Lasse is referencing the tattoo that David Minerba got on his thigh for his attempt at the ‘Do something really stupid’ task, which declared him the winner of the season long before he could possibly have known how well he’d done. David proudly displays his tattoo on stage again, at the end of this episode.

Winner notes
Stormester finale episode winners aren’t usually announced. In this case, there was a tie between David and Mikkel, but Mikkel would have been the winner due to Stormester’s tiebreak rules, which dictate in the first instance that the winner is the contestant with the most task wins during the episode.
