In this version of the task, the vessel into which the contestants must count the macaroni is a Viking drinking horn, and the contestants begin with 30 seconds on the clock.

The task brief is laid on the table in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:
Place soup pasta in the horn.
The most correctly counted soup pasta in the horn wins.
You have 30 seconds.
Your 30 seconds will be restarted each time your correctly make and solve a new multiplication problem.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- Also on the table, there is a bowl of uncooked macaroni (referred to as ‘suppehorn’, or ‘soup pasta’), and a Viking drinking horn (‘drikkehorn’). The choice of vessel is presumably for the sake of wordplay on ‘horn’.
- The horn has a series of runes written on it. Should the contestants find the book of runes in the study (which has been below the Viking-themed portrait of Lasse for the entire season), they can use a substitutions cipher to translate the runes to ‘to syv syv otte’ (2778), which is the exact number of pieces of macaroni in the bowl.
- In the studio, Mark and Lasse clarify that the task is not necessarily about getting the most macaroni in the horn, but about correctly counting how much is in it. While not outright stated in the task brief or by Mark or Lasse, incorrectly-counted macaroni totals actually result in disqualifications, rather than lower scores.
