Drammen's Theatre
Drammen's Theatre is a theatre located at Øvre Storgate 12 in Drammen, Norway.
Designed on the same model as the Parisian theatres Théâtre de la Porte-Saint-Martin and Théâtre du Châtelet, Drammen's theatre has a complex Neo-Renaissance style, with symmetrical facades and round-arched windows.
The original theatre was designed by the architect Emil Victor Langlet, and opened in 1870.
In December 1993, the original theatre was almost completely destroyed by fire, leaving only the outer walls behind. The architect for its reconstruction was Jan Øyvind Berntzen.
The rebuilt theatre was completed in February 1997, with upgraded, modern functionality.
