Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- Steinar brings in his 5-year-old son’s collection of Spiderman merchandise, including clothes, bed sheets, and action figures. He says that he’s getting tired of the red and blue aesthetic of the collection, which “doesn’t fit in with what the interior designer suggested”. He also notes that he hasn’t told his son about bringing the collection with him to give away, and that he was hoping he could get rid of it without his son noticing. He earns second place.
- Ida brings in the incubator she had used to hatch a chicken for the the ‘Create life’ task in episode 7, and which she says has been on her kitchen counter ever since, and that she’s never going to use it again. Solveig wonders if perhaps it would be possible to incubate other things in there. Einar suggest that perhaps pancakes and mittens could be ‘incubated’, to keep them warm, and Solveig then suggests that Ida could use it to incubate her own eggs. Ida earns third place.
- Amir brings in a collection of 1 krone coins from his project ‘Ode to the 1 krone coin’, in which he had incorporated the often neglected coins into new works of art. He notes that he has brought in pieces of the art as his prize submissions several times already (‘Something that does not get the respect it deserves’, in episode 1; ‘Something that seemed like a good idea’, in episode 4; and ‘The thing you have spent too much time on’, in episode 8), and hasn’t earned many points from them, so he now wants to get rid of the coins. Unsurprisingly, he earns last place from Atle, who has already had enough of Amir’s 1 krone artworks.
- Solveig brings in a garage door opener that her son had found on the street and brought home. She admits that she hasn’t been bothered enough to try to find out who it might have belonged to. The opener has therefore been sitting on a dresser at home, making her feel guilty every time she walks past it, so she wants to get rid of it. She earns fourth place.
- Einar brings in a really old cast iron wood burning stove, which he says was left in his house by the previous owners, who’d opted not to take it with them. He says he has wanted to get rid of it ever since he’d moved in, so this prize task was the perfect opportunity to do so. He earns first place.
