Attempts
Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- Steinar initially tries to wrap the tape around his wrist, but eventually opts to hold the roll in one hand, and remove the tape with the other, using longer pulls. He earns first place.
- Ida holds the tape in one hand while unravelling it with the other, in small, fast yanks. She earns second place.
- Amir wraps the tape around one of his hands by moving both of his hands around each other in a circular motion. He admits afterwards that he hadn’t removed all of the tape because he’d panicked once everyone else started finishing. He earns last place.
- Einar takes a long time to find the end of his tape, and then the tape breaks on him. However, once he finds the end again, he hangs the roll over one of the arms of a decorative stage wall candelabra, so that it can spin freely, and he can focus on unravelling the tape. Although he appears to be catching up with some of the other contestants quite well, using this technique, he fails to unravel all of the tape, in his eagerness to get it into the box. He therefore ends up in fourth place.
- Solveig begins by trying to wrap the tape around the edge of her table, but eventually opts to hold it in one hand while pulling quickly with the other. At the end of the task, however, she is unable to get the lid onto the box properly, and has to hold it down with her hands. She earns third place.
