Retrieve and sip your drink

  • In this live studio task, the contestants must attempt to retrieve and sip a drink from a glass which has been placed at the end of an unrolled toilet roll.
  • They must keep all parts of their body behind a line on the stage while pulling on the toilet roll.
  • This task is very similar to the 'Roll a toilet roll, and then use it to retrieve something' task (particularly the version used on Le Maître du Jeu, where the contestants had to retrieve glasses of water, rather than shoes), except the contestants do not have to roll their toilet rolls first.
  • There may be multiple rounds of the task, using different types of drinking glasses, or a single round in which the contestants blindly choose the starting location of their glass, and how much drink it contains.

Original version

In this version of the task, the contestants must retrieve and sip from glasses of water placed on the end of a toilet roll, without any part of their body crossing a line on stage. There are three rounds of the game, utilising different types of drinking glasses.

Adaptations

In this version of the task, the contestants are first asked to choose how far in front of them a wine glass is placed, and how much wine it should be filled with. The Taskmaster’s assistant then places the glass on the end of a roll of toilet paper, and rolls the rest of the roll towards the contestant. The contestants must then retrieve and sip their wine without any part of their body crossing the line they are stood behind. There is only one round, and points are assigned based on how quickly they sip their drinks, and then how far away the glasses are, if they fail.
