Biography

Heidi Kristiina 'Krisse' Salminen (born on 28 May 1976) is a Finnish actor and stand-up comedian.

She started her career as a stand-up comedian in 2001, and was named stand-up newcomer of the year in 2002.

She rose to fame as 'Krisse' in 2003 by appearing on the Hyppönen-Enbuske Experience talk show, playing the role of a reporter who many viewers initially believed was a real person. The popularity of this character led to her hosting her own show, Krisse Show, from 2003.

She has played roles in theatre, and worked as a voice actor in the animated film Keisarin salaisuus ['The Emperor's Secret'], and the Finnish dubs of Robots, Shrek the Third, and Toy Story 3.

She appeared as a surprise host in the final of the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest held in Finland.

In 2007, the Krisse Show programme was replaced with the tourism program Krisse Road Show.

In 2009, she started a talk show called Ne Salmiset with her brother, Eppu Salminen.

In 2012, she participated in the Tanssii tähtien kanssa ['Dancing with the Stars'] competition, which she and her dance partner won.
