Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Jonas orders a tooth, a man, sand, land, water, and a bucket. Jonas has Mark (serving as 'man') sit on the ground (covered in plastic sheeting, which he counts as his land), and pours several bags of sand over him. He then puts a bucket on Mark’s head; Jonas declares him a “statue of Lasse wearing a bucket over his head”. Jonas' statue is actually a water feature, as there is a tube poking out of the middle of the sand pile, through which water runs. Lasse, upset that Jonas' statue portrays him as incontinent, awards Jonas fifth place.
  • Linda orders marzipan, cellophane, Ketogan [a morphine-level painkiller], and Parmesan. Linda pours the bottle of Ketogan into her bra and begins sculpting her statue. She makes a head out of the marzipan, using her fingers to make the facial features. She sprinkles the Parmesan cheese on top of the head to serve as hair and lips, and cuts cellophane into the shape of glasses. Lasse awards Linda second place.
  • Tobias orders clay, and someone named Per. Tobias makes glasses out of clay and sticks them onto Per’s face. Surprisingly, Per has a decent resemblance to Lasse, which is further aided by the glasses, so Tobias declares his statue finished – holding up a portrait of Lasse for comparison. Lasse acknowledges that there was a resemblance to him in the final product, and awards Tobias third place.
  • Simon orders rice, ice, wood chips, and a whisk. Simon puts a flannel shirt on the ice block and starts to chip away at it with various ice carving tools – as well as the whisk. However, Simon has bad luck with his carving, accidentally chipping away any sort of progress he makes towards any sort of facial features. Running out of time, Simon throws wood chips on top of the ice block to serve as hair, and pours the rice down the flannel shirt. Lasse acknowledges Simon’s enthusiasm during the sculpting process, but says that enthusiasm is not what earns points. Lasse awards Simon fourth place.
  • Sofie orders bananas, lianas [tropical vines], pheasants, lilacs, medians [a style of underpants], pelicans, train tracks, and bad habits. Sofie makes the peacock statue the base of her sculpture, thickening it with the broken-up train tracks, surrounding it in the lilacs and lianas and holding it all together with the medians. She smashes up the bananas (which she likens to papier mâché), uses the flattened peels to form the face, and uses the smashed bananas as an adhesive to keep it all together. She accents the face (Lasse’s wrinkles) with cigarette butts (representing bad habits). She uses leaves to serve as Lasse’s eyes. Lasse praises Sofie’s statue and awards her first place.
