Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Sofie uses straws to suck the liquids from each pitcher, depositing them in the closest glasses to each pitcher. When she realises the time is still running, she rereads the task and checks the front of the pitchers and glasses. Sofie uses the straws to empty both glasses back into the pitchers, then transfers them into the correct glasses. Sofie completes the task in 6 minutes 10 seconds, and comes third.
  • Tobias runs to the kitchen and gabs some pots. With Mark’s help, he tips the table over and pours the liquids into the pots, then transfers them into the glasses closest to each pitcher. When he realises that the time is still running, he rereads the task. At a loss, Tobias decides to ‘freestyle’, and uses one of the pots to break the glasses through the table (in the studio, Tobias claims a weakness of his is that if he cannot understand something, he tries to destroy it instead). He reads the task once again and realises that he did not fill the glasses correctly. As Tobias has no juice left in either pitcher, he starts a philosophical debate with Mark about how ‘juice’ and ‘lemonade’ are really just social constructs. Tobias does not finish the task – while he is not disqualified, he earns no points.
  • After testing to see if she can tilt the table to make the liquid come out of the pitchers, Linda thinks about the task for a moment. Regretting that it’s come to violence, she pulls the glasses from the table. It is not shown, but Linda apparently realises that the glasses are not paired with their respective pitchers on the table, so she fills them correctly the first time – by having Mark hold the glasses while she tilts the table towards him. Linda finishes the task in 1 minute 55 seconds, and wins the task.
  • Jonas immediately realises that he needs to pour the liquids into new containers. He grabs a watering can and a helmet from the shed, and with Mark’s help, tilts the table to empty the pitchers. It is not shown, but Jonas apparently realises that the glasses are not paired with their respective pitchers on the table, so he fills them correctly the first time. Jonas completes the task in 2 minutes 39 seconds, and comes second.
  • Simon pulls the pitchers free from the table and empties them into the closest glasses to them. When he realises the time is still running, he rereads the task, and notices that the pitcher and glasses were labelled. Simon tears the glasses from the table, and takes them and the pitchers into the kitchen, intent on refilling them to finish the task. Simon easily finds the lemonade in the refrigerator and successfully fills the lemonade glass (watering it down as the carton did not have enough), but somehow completely overlooks the juice carton that was near the lemonade carton, despite searching the refrigerator several times. Instead, Simon juices the lemons he finds in the refrigerator (which were resting on top of the carton of juice) directly into the juice glass. Instead of watering it down like he did with the lemonade, Simon goes outside in search of more things he can juice. Simon blends a mixture of several types of plant matter from around the Stormester house, and pours the resulting mixture into the juice glass. Simon finishes the task in 15 minutes 41 seconds, and comes fourth.
