The task brief is found wedged into the hoop of a wooden barrel full of assorted umbrellas, in the garden of the Taskmaster house. The brief for the task is as follows:
Repurpose this umbrella and demonstrate its new purpose.

Task notes
- Before the contestants read the task brief, Alex instructs them to choose one of the umbrellas.
- This task is somewhat similar to the 'Use a cement mixer' task, in that the contestants are find a novel use for an object, but is counted as being an original task here.
- On episode 131 of Taskmaster The Podcast, show director Andy Devonshire revealed that this task had been tried before in series 6, but didn't make the cut because Liza Tarbuck had no ideas, and so didn't complete the task.
