Task briefs

The task brief is laid on top of a fishbowl, on a plinth, on the front porch of the house. The briefs for the task are as follows:

Collect fish pellets in your fishbowl.

You must not bend from the waist down while the test is ongoing.

The most fish pellets in the fishbowl wins.

You have 15 minutes.

Your time starts now.

On the back of the envelope:

Warning! The rooms may contain traps.

Task notes

  • There are tin cans containing fish pellets in the study, the shed, the caravan, the kitchen, and the lab.
  • In the study, a can full of pellets is attached to a plank of wood, which is resting across a small table, with the other end balanced on the inside door handle. When the contestants open the door, the plank becomes unbalanced and falls to the floor, spilling the pellets.
  • In the shed, a can of pellets is stood on top of a plinth, but has a tripwire attached to it, which pulls the can onto the floor.
  • In the caravan, there is a can of pellets on a shelf, which is attached to the lower half of the caravan door with a wire, and is therefore pulled onto the floor when the door is swung open.
  • In the kitchen, there is a can of pellets on the counter, attached to the kitchen door handle with a wire so that it will be pulled onto the floor if the door is opened wide.
  • In the lab, a can of pellets with no bottom is stood on top of an upturned metal bowl, on top of a plinth, so that if the contestants try to pick it up, the pellets all spill out of the bottom.
  • There are long-handled dustpans available in multiple rooms throughout the house, for the contestants to use in collecting spilled pellets.
